My Name Is Rachel Corrie

From the writings of Rachel Corrie; edited by Alan Rickman & Katherine Viner

with Laura Burns as Rachel Corrie

Heralded as a humanitarian by many, yet vilified as a terrorist by others, the writings a young American peace activist comes to life in the politically charged play, My Name Is Rachel Corrie.

Five years after her death, Rachel Corrie continues to spark heated debate. The controversy concerning the 23-year-old American, killed by an IDF bulldozer while trying to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian home in 2003, has since spilled into the arts world via My Name Is Rachel Corrie, a theatrical production that documents her life from the time she was a child to the days leading up to her death in Gaza. The play, entirely based on Corrie’s diaries, letters and emails, was created by Alan Rickman and journalist Katherine Viner.
