U.M.I. PERFORMANCE COLLECTIVE has been haunting the fringe of London since 2005. Formed out of a need to express the inexpressible in a world of pre-packaged fashion statements disguised as ideas, U.M.I.’s mandate has always been to shake the dust off of the collective brain, let it out for some exercise, and have a rock n’ roll good time in the process.
Boasting a floating roster of some of London’s most innovative artists, including Anapolis, Blue Sky, Meghan Brown, Chesterfield Hadden, Chris The Barbarian, Foolhammer, Helen of Troy, Juggerblinnder, King Crutch, Jayson McDonald, Michael Milkman, Mike Semple, Summer Rain, The Thunder Twins, and Travis sivarT, U.M.I. has always been known as the premiere performance art group of the last decade. From its inaugural piece, Cheerfully Withdrawn, to its breathtaking assault on the senses Speed Is The Colour, U.M.I.’s efforts have never failed to stimulate, surprise, confront and ultimately change its audiences.
And now…the end of an era. U.M.I. presents its nineteenth and final collective work, The Last Goddamned Performance Piece. Conceived, devised and orchestrated by Blue Sky (Hurt Me Again, I Dare You), Meghan Brown (Trashcan Duet, 7 Stories, The Underachievers), Jayson McDonald (Fall Fair, Boat Load, Giant Invisible Robot, The Boneyard Man), Mike Semple (Spitfire) and Summer Rain (One Drop Of Blood).
Please join us for our final collaboration, an exploration of the sorrow of separation, the pain of betrayal, and the side-splitting comedy of performance art gone horribly awry.
Tickets $10, available at The ARTS Project box office, 519-642-2767.
