HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT Fall 2010
DANCE AUDITIONS
The Grand Theatre is inviting High School students (Grade 9-12 in 2010-2011 school year) from London and the surrounding area to audition for:
Anything Goes
Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter
Billy Crocker, a young Wall Street broker, falls in love with heiress Hope Harcourt and stows away on an ocean liner in hopes of winning her heart. But there’s one thing standing in Billy’s way, Hope’s fiancé, Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Billy, with the help of others onboard including an evangelist turned nightclub singer, Reno Sweeney, a second-rate gangster “Moonface” Martin and his sidekick Bonnie, plan to break up the engagement. Sail across the Atlantic from New York to London and see what antics ensue in the 2010 High School Project, with the musical Anything Goes.
An Open Dance Audition is currently being scheduled for:
Thursday April 15, 2010 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Students are asked to please wear proper dance attire and bring both jazz and tap shoes. Please note: The style of dance is Broadway/Theatrical and Tap.
Rehearsals for ANYTHING GOES:
First rehearsal will be Sunday July 25, 2010. Rehearsals Sunday – Thursday
Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (4 – 7:30 p.m. once school commences) and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. There will be extended rehearsals during the week of Monday August 16 to Friday August 20 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Please Note: Students should be aware that they will be required to miss approximately eight afternoons from school.
Performances will run from:
September 21 – October 2, 2010 on the Main Stage.
