Fire of the Mind: The Life of Louis Wain

At the height of Victorian-era England, Louis Wain struggles with the burden of supporting his domineering family, while still chasing his dream of becoming a successful artist. When Louis falls in love with his sister’s new governess, Emily, he starts on a path that ultimately brings him great professional success, drawing one thing: cats. But as Wain retreats into his self-created fantasy world for solace in the face of loss, he puts himself in danger of losing contact with reality altogether. Both a tragic romance and a psychological exploration, Fire Of The Mind examines what happens when the creation begins to control the creator.
