Don Giovanni
It’s melodramatic! It’s comedic! It’s got supernatural elements! It’s the most popular version of the rake’s punishment, or Don Juan’s I did it My Way. But before he is dragged to hell, Don Giovanni is the charming, seductive nobleman. His servant Leporello assists the Don in rakish pursuits, luring, distracting or wooing women, wearing disguises and taking the blame for his master’s behaviour – grumbling all the time. Zerlina, the blushing bride, is saved from infamy by Elvira – once seduced herself by the Don and still in love with him. Anna, is also saved from conquest, by her father the Commendatore. He is killed in a duel by Giovanni, but hauntingly returns for a flaming finish. Don’t miss this spectacular twist to Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner.
