‘Art’

How much would you pay for a white painting?
Would it matter who the painter was?
Would it be art?

These questions are brought to the fore by three old friends when one of them purchases an expensive work of abstract art – a large painting consisting of white lines on a white canvas.

The debate over the painting resolves around a question of aesthetic values; modern abstract versus traditional representational art.

‘ART’ is less about the debate over artistic values than it is about the complexities of friendship. The purchase of the painting symbolizes a deeper rift in friendships that can happen over time and circumstances.
