The Laramie Project

In 1998 Matthew Shepard, a student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie, because he was gay. The Tectonic Theatre Project from New York made 6 visits to Laramie over the next year and a half, including the trial of the two young men accused of the killing. They conducted over 200 interviews with people connected to the case, and with ordinary Laramie citizens. Out of these interviews, they constructed a deeply moving tapestry play of the feelings of a whole town, and of their own feelings as artists.

Tickets: $16 adults, $11 students; available online or by calling 519-679-8989.
