Choose But Choose Wisely

The play is set in the Thames River Valley in Delaware and what is now London Ontario, and it begins with the outbreak of the War of 1812. The first thing that the residents of this area heard was a proclamation issued by William Hull, the American general in charge of Fort Detroit, who advised everyone that they must accept the American takeover or face a war of extermination, and advised them all to “Choose, but choose wisely.”
