A Streetcar Named Desire

Brimming with seismic tension, this 1947 classic is the story of Blanche Dubois—a neurotic, but fragile romantic who clutches her ever elusive fantasies in an effort to evade life’s harsh realities. Stripped of her job and former life in the upscale family plantation, Blanche retreats to the doorstep of her sister Stella and husband Stanley. The unexpected squalor and blue-collar existence that defines their small apartment becomes the stage where the realities of gender inequality, sexual violence, co-dependency and distrust play their hands. Regarded as one of the finest plays of the 20th century.
