Tachycardia (often known simply as “Tachy”) is a 62-year-old tradition at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. It is an annual theatrical production that provides Western medical students the opportunity to express their creative sides and give back to the London and medical communities at the same time.
Since its inception in 1955, Tachycardia has allowed thousands of students to showcase their performing arts talents to help raise funds for charitable causes. The show is entirely written, directed, produced and performed by Schulich medical students. Tachycardia is something of a variety show, featuring music, comedy, singing and dancing, all with a medical twist!
Enthusiasm for Tachycardia has always been strong. The show entertains over 1,500 attendees each year and is a staple in the calendars of not only students, but of prominent university faculty and staff, alumni, local physicians and medical residents as well.
