Lights, Camera… Magic! Is a wonderful family friendly show that’s filled with clever tricks, gentle, non-offensive humour that fans of magic of all ages can enjoy.

I was either laughing or amazed by the wide variety of Savio Joseph’s tricks. Starting with a bowling ball materializing out of thin air and moving into more primary rope tricks, Savio is able to entertain the audience throughout the entire show.

If you enjoy audience participation and want to be a part of the magic, this is a show for you. A lot of people were able to participate either through verifying objects for authenticity or by being a prop in a slapstick style trick.

Joseph is confident and moves through his set smoothly. At only 18yrs old I believe he will have a bright future ahead of him. If you have kids, I’d encourage you to bring them to Lights, Camera… Magic as this show is good clean fun.

London Fringe — Lights, Camera… Magic! A Magician Growing into the Spotlight

With Lights, Camera…. Magic, we have the pleasure of seeing a young magician growing into the spotlight. Thought not 100 per cent there yet, Savio Joseph shows more than enough charisma, talent, and sense of fun to warrant keeping an eye on.

His current Fringe production, Lights, Camera… Magic is an uneven but entertaining ride through magic. Joseph displays an easy-going charm and a self-effacing sense of humour and is adept at slight-of-hand magic and other standard tricks.

The first half of the show was a bit uneven and took some time to hit its stride. Some of the bits, particularly one involving a roll of toilet paper, went on a bit too long for the payoff that it provided. However, the second half was absolutely fantastic and Joseph seemed to find his comfort zone and timing.

If you’re a fan of magic shows at all, you’re not going to be surprised by anything you see here. There are a number of standard tricks that he performs, and performs well. But what’s missing is that one, true, signature trick that defines Joseph. He is a magician-of-all-trades and we have the luxury of watching him grow into his craft.

At just 18 years old, Joseph has a long and promising career ahead of him. His show is a bit rough around the edges, but it’s a pleasure to watch and it’s certainly designed to delight people from three to 103.

I agree with both authors on this one this s one great show for all to see. I enjoyed being a part of the show in even a small way. I’m still trying to figure out how he did it. Savio even shows his skill by not only having a small table float in mid air but uses a member of the audience to help out. I will never look at a life saver the same way again either have the amazing feat he preformed with it. Come one come all this a show to see. don’t miss out.

In this delightful magic show, Savio Joseph combines charm, humour and amazing illusions to keep the audience amused and entertained throughout. Indeed, many members of the audience were willing participants as Joseph surprised and delighted them with his sleight of hand and mind reading illusions.

Successful magic shows require more than good tricks: the magician must be able to engage and entertain the audience as he transitions from trick to trick. Joseph, despite his young age, always keeps the spectators amused and charmed with his self-deprecatory humour and easy going style.

There are several magic shows to choose from at this year’s Fringe. This one guarantees a very pleasant hour of fun and wonder suitable for all ages.

I was charmed and mesmerized by Savio Joseph’s stage presence and illusions. He has so many incredible tricks that I felt almost overwhelmed at times, He retrieves a previously-chewed candy from his throat by almost choking himself with a set of ear buds. He uses a Rubik’s cube in a long series of tricks that involve much more than just solving the cube quickly. He conjures bowling balls and makes tables float. His final trick might not fool Penn and Teller but it certainly baffled me. He involves the audience in as many tricks as he can and in the meantime has us all cheering for his success now and in the future. I give this show *****

I was pleasantly surprised at this outstanding performance by Savio Joseph. I was even more impressed by the skill he showed at only 18 years of age! Wow! I also appreciated that this show could be enjoyed by all ages, a rarity in modern entertainment. This show was a mixture of comedy – which generated a lot of laughs – and magic. Bestowed by seemingly supernatural powers, object floated, minds were read and objects were materialized all while engaging the audience in a casual, very humorous manner. By the last 20 minutes of the show the audience was completely mesmerized, and the final signature act, left us gasping, and furiously clapping. His skill on the Rubik’s Cube left us amazed.
Contrary to a couple reviews, I appreciated the flow of the first half, the shorter tricks kept us engaged and the use of audience members in funny situations was captivating. Sure, a case could be made for more polish and flow – that will come with time and experience – but I was there to be entertained, and to that end, it worked tremendously.
I urge all Fringe enthusiasts to come out and support this talented, young performer and enjoy an hour of mystery, mirth, and marvel! Bring the family! One of the most entertaining Fringe performances I have seen in a while. Great stuff, Savio!
