Unscripted: Jordi Mand
Jordi Mand is a Toronto-based playwright who has worked with some of Canada’s most prominent theatre companies. Her work has been produced nationally, internationally and published by Playwrights Canada Press. Her plays include Between the Sheets (Nightwood Theatre), Caught (Theatre Passe Muraille), This Will Be Excellent (Carousel Players). She is a 2017/2018 Resident of the Bell Media Prime TV Program at the Canadian Film Centre. She has been a Playwright-in-Residence with Theatre Passe Muraille, Carousel Players and Nightswimming Theatre. She is a past member of the Tarragon Theatre’s Playwrights Unit and the Stratford Festival’s Playwrights Retreat. Mand is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s Acting Program.
As one of Canada’s emerging playwrights, with her most recent play Brontë: The World Without making it’s world premiere at the Stratford Festival this summer, there will be plenty to talk about with Jordi. It’ll be a conversation great for all those emerging artists out there who are developing new work -no matter what creative discipline!
