Where Do We Begin?
Where Do We Begin? is a new musical about John Berry, a 16 year old boy who takes his own life. The show follows four of his friends, Jonas, Maria, Mac, and Beth, who find themselves in the very place where John spent his final moments, the roof of their school.
As the four friends learn more about each other, they share memories about John and find ways to speak out about their own struggles with mental illness. Where Do We Begin? is a conversation about mental health and is based on the true stories of Grace Campbell and Sarah McMillan and it offers a raw and honest depiction of the real struggles people face every day. Through song, dance, spoken word, and theatre, Where Do We Begin? asks us to think about what it means to grieve, and ultimately, where do we find hope in the face of a tragedy?
