The 2019 Brickenden Awards

The 2019 Brickenden Awards for Theatrical Excellence were presented at the Wolf Performance Hall on Monday night. Emcee Aidan Thomas led the presenters in recognizing companies and individuals in production- and performance-based categories for the 2019 calendar year.
Of the 20 awards presented, almost two thirds went to musical productions. The four youth awards were all presented to London Youth Theatre Education shows and individuals for the first time; LYTE had only been nominated twice in previous years.

The winners of most awards were decided by votes from the public, the Brickenden core, youth, and original script panels, and the organization’s executive committee. The Chris Doty Award is selected by the Brickenden committee, Original Script is chosen solely by the reading panel, and the People’s Choice award is decided entirely through an online ballot.
