Open audition call for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” presented by Cat Scratch Theatre Company. Send an email to catscratchtheatre@gmail.com to book a 10 minute audition slot. Times for auditions can be found at the bottom of this page.

The show will be at TAP Centre for Creativity January 10th – January 13th 2019, with move in and tech day on January 7th and dress rehearsal days on January 8th and 9th. Rehearsals will begin in September. Exact show dates are subject to change at the discretion of the venue.

AVAILABLE ROLES:

THESEUS – The Duke of Athens, the highest figure of authority in the city.

HIPPOLYTA – Queen of the Amazons, to be wed to Theseus

EGEUS – Loyal subject to The Duke, and father of Hermia

HERMIA – Daughter of Egeus, in love with Lysander

LYSANDER – In love with Hermia

DEMETRIUS – Suitor to Hermia, former lover of Helena

NICK BOTTOM – A weaver

FRANCIS FLUTE – A bellows-mender

TOM SNOUT – A tinkerer

SNUG – A joiner

ROBIN STARVELING – A tailor

THE FAIRIES:

OBERON – King of the fairies

TITANIA – Queen of the fairies

PUCK – The mischievous sprite who is in the service of Oberon

COBWEB, MOTH, MUSTARDSEED, PEASBLOSSOM – Fairies in the service of Titania

HELENA – In love with Demetrius

PETER QUINCE – A carpenter

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Auditions will be 10 minutes slots. We ask that you prepare a Shakespearean monologue around 2 minutes in length. Following the monologue portion of the audition, there will be a short portion involving movement, as well as a short portion involving music.

AUDITION DATES AND TIMES:

Saturday July 21st, 2018 – 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM

Sunday July 22nd, 2018 – 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM
