Over the River and Through the Woods is a sometimes hilarious and sometimes heartwarming play about family, food and faith – the 3 “F”s of life. The phrase “tengo famiglia” shows up repeatedly. Literally it means “I hold family”. Nick has come to his grandparents house for supper every Sunday for the last 25 years but he now has a problem. He has been offered a promotion at work that requires him to relocate from New Jersey to Seattle 2000 miles away. How will he tell his grandparents? How will they react? Now begins the series of schemes to keep Nick around. How could he betray his family’s love by moving to Seattle? So the grandparents do their level best to keep him home including bringing to dinner a lovely and SINGLE girl as bait—A barrel of laughs with a few tears.
