Alice Through the Looking-Glass
Alice Through The Looking-Glass is the story of a young girl coming of age. While Alice is looking through the glass, she is subjected to the trials of her life as they get reflected back to her. Alice is eager to rush through the process of growing up, but as she soon discovers, growing up is more difficult than she assumed. Like most girls of her age, Alice struggles to discover her identity and place within the world of the looking glass. Alice’s journey through the looking glass world forces her to face the common issues of growing-up, such as peer-pressure, self-image, and bullying. It is through overcoming these obstacles that Alice is able to discover her own independence. We see her character mature from a young girl to a young woman as she develops a strength and appreciation for living in the moment rather than rushing to grow up. The question is, will Alice learn her lessons from the world of the looking glass or will she be trapped in the illusion of what it means to be a perfect woman?
