Two elderly gentlemen, a Toronto Jew and his friend, a Newfoundland World War II veteran, both with little time left to live, unexpectedly come into a fortune. With their new status and the help of a beautiful lawyer they have some fun pulling off a brilliant sting on a bank manager of questionable integrity and morality, all to the benefit of older people. This play takes a thoughtful, humourous look at stereotypes, aging, and letting go. We CAN learn new things, and form new opinions, no matter our age…with a little help from our friends.

We Seek the Dread Orb of Unfathomable Power

Claire Lyman has a lot on her plate. Between slinging drinks at her floundering bar, dealing with her gleefully cruel landlady and her landlady’s churlish, thick-skulled son – oh, and being in unknowing possession of an evil ancient artifact that’s sought after by an alien warlord whose hobbies include skinning people alive, things aren’t going particularly well.

Can Claire save her bar (and literally everything else), and maybe even find love in the process? I’m not gonna lie, probably not, but it’ll be a fun time watching her try, anyhow.

Gracious Living

Is the romantic love you experienced in your 20’s the same that you can expect in your 80’s? That’s the question central to Gracious Living. The play takes place in a seniors’ residence. Diana, a widow, is attracted to Max, a new resident. She enlists the help of her friend Liz, to write a series of love letters to get Max’s attention. Liz reluctantly agrees and in the process is visited by the ghost of her late husband Brad, a famous author who died young. But is he a ghost or an illusion? As Liz writes the love letters, she’s confronted by a past fueled by love, loss and regret.
