This group of zany characters sure is on edge, but don’t worry: This play is sure to be the hit they have all been hoping for.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a quirky musical about the trials and tribulations of 6 childhood spellers as they compete for first prize at the Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The Adventures of Goldilockpick and Little Red Riding Hoodlum

Goldilockpick and Little Red Riding Hoodlum are two pretty young ladies with a penchant for mischief! Contrary to what the fairytales tell, Gold is a brazen burglar and Little Red a sly young thief who is assisted by her criminal Gran. The two fight, in wild slapstick fashion, for control of the Magical Woods, until the Queen of Hearts sends her elite Agents – The Wolves, to put an end to the madness! Amid the chaos, the girls manage to find fame and love, with Little Boy Blue and the Knave. All seems well, until the Queen finds out what they’ve done!

Twenty-Four Hour Theatre

Working as a team to write, memorize, and stage a full play in a day, the King’s Players also have to include a box of random props and costumes that will be unveiled as the event starts on Friday night.

Bare: A Pop Opera

Bare: A Pop Opera is centred around a group of friends in their senior year at a Catholic boarding school. The main characters, Peter and Jason, carry on a closeted romance. Peter wants to go public with their affair, but Jason isn’t so keen on the idea, and feels that his entire world would crumble if the relationship got out. The teenage characters of St. Cecelia’s deal with issues of inclusion, same-sex marriage, drugs, and suicide throughout the story.

Fools

Enter the unlucky town of Kulyenchikov that has been cursed with chronic stupidity for hundreds of years as a young school master named Leon Tolchinsky arrives and falls in love with a girl so stupid she has only recently learned to sit down. Soon Leon finds out he only has 24 hours before he falls prey to the curse. Follow the town’s quirky characters as they help (or try to help) Leon fight to break the curse before it is too late and he too becomes a fool.

Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors is a comedy/horror rock musical that tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a young worker in a florist’s shop who raises a mysterious plant. When the plant starts gaining attention and fame things seem to be looking up for Seymour, until he learns that the plant’s food of choice is human flesh.

The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon

The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil’s Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun.

Grease

Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their Summer Nights as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as Greased Lightnin’, It’s Raining on Prom Night and Alone at the Drive-In Movie, recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation.

Dubonnet’s Finishing School, falls in love with Tony, a delivery boy. Recalling her father’s warning to beware fortune seekers, she posses as a working girl, unaware Tony is in fact the missing son of the wealthy Lord Brockhurst. Things get complicated with the unexpected arrival of Polly’s parents and Lord and Lady Brockhurst.
