Zombie Prom: Atomic Edition

This girl-loves-ghoul rock ‘n’ roll off-Broadway musical is set in the atomic 1950s at Enrico Fermi High, where the law is laid down by a zany, tyrannical principal. Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear waste dump. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee’s heart. He still wants to graduate, but most of all he wants to take Toffee to the prom. The principal orders him to drop dead while a scandal-seeking reporter seizes on him as the freak du jour. History comes to his rescue while a tuneful selection of original songs in the style of 50s hits keeps the action rocking across the stage.

Sally Sells Seashells (And You Can Too!)

Our Summer Season closes with sand, surf, and sunshine! Sally is a kid con-artist who explodes onto a quiet beach town with a get-rich-quick seashell-selling-scheme. For a small fee, she trains the kids on how to sell seashells before the annual summer festival, but plans to skip town with all their money before the big event! Sally becomes torn after meeting a local, Tam, who joins the program eager to help her family. The kids in this little beach town will never be the same as they learn the importance of friendship, honesty, and finding a healthy balance between working hard and having fun.

Peter and the Starcatcher

“To have faith is to have wings.” We’re excited to present the story behind The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up live, outdoors in Pirate’s Cove on a full pirate ship playground!  A boy and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, containing a secret precious cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training, who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance that must be kept safe from the treacherous Black Stache. Peter and the Starcatcher is an adventure for the young, the young-at-heart and those determined never to grow up.

Unfortunately, the impending thunderstorm clouds this evening will be blocking our view of the stars. Our starcatchers are going to need to take the evening off. Forecast for Sunday and Monday performances are looking great!

Ticket holders for Saturday’s performance are welcome to call the Box Office today (519-679-8989) and speak about availability for future performances. Otherwise, all Saturday evening ticket holders will automatically be refunded tomorrow (Sunday).

But there is one curious Giant who wonders what life is like on Earth, so she steals a key to the locked up “beanstalk” and embarks on an adventure down below!

Snow Angel

The chill of January brings us this magical, delicate contemporary play.  When the quiet town of Deerpoint, Vermont is hit by the biggest blizzard in 107 years, a mysterious girl named Eva steps out of a snow bank and into the lives of 15 confused teenagers who are asked to help her in her search. What Eva’s searching for — and who she truly is — becomes a mystery that baffles, divides, and energizes the teens of Deerpoint. Told through journal entries and interactions among the students over the course of a single snow day, Snow Angel is a funny and eerie tale of teen angst, discovery, and the power of believing.

Public performances of Snow Angel have been cancelled. Ticket refunds are available through the box office. The production will be filmed, with no audience, on Saturday January 29; there will be one invited performance for family Monday January 31.

Soon everyone from the terrified pint-sized shepherds to the furious church ladies are calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to fire the Herdmans. It’s up to Grace and the Reverend to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes. Silent night? Not a chance.
