Ms Scrooge: The Comedy

Here’s a clever script that presents the original theme of A Christmas Carol, but with an entirely new twist! Why shouldn’t females get to play these wonderful parts — Scrooge, Marley, Cratchit, Tiny Tim, the 3 Spirits — and all the rest? So we follow Edna Scrooge, who has sacrificed human feelings for financial success, and see what happens to renew her purpose in life on that fateful Christmas Eve! Come along with Ms Scrooge, and all the women in this play and you will all have a whole new Christmas experience! 60 minutes (G Rated)

                The Velveteen Rabbit: The Musical

                The Velveteen Rabbit is special because it identifies with children and its message will last as long as people search for love. Both humorous and meaningful, this musical adaptation follows the adventures of the toy rabbit as it tries to become real. On the journey, the rabbit must deal with the Top Banana Nana, the dictator of the play room, and all the other snobby toys, as we move between the worlds of imagination and reality. Filled with lively and touching songs, The Velveteen Rabbit is guaranteed to make you respond with both laughter and also misty eyes. This is a musical for everyone to savour. 75 minutes. (G Rated)

                              Do you want “relevance”? Here’s a play as up-to-date as the newest website! Cyber-Mare takes on important Cyberspace safety issues and information, never talks down to young people and tempers all with humour in vignettes with strong drama and believable characters. Today’s kids potentially wander a vast frontier of uncharted internet territory, and from the apparent safety of their own homes, open the door to hidden dangers every time they enter a chat room, post a photo on a social networking site, or even send an email. Cyber-Mare presents scenes with youth headed for trouble on the internet: cyber-bullying, identity theft, stalkers posing as peers, mass forwarding of embarrassing photos or private information etc., but never becomes preachy. This is a highly recommended play for all families. 60 minutes (G)

                                                                      In our world of Wolverine and Transformers, it is not as easy to be “haunty” as it used to be. And so the evil genius of the good old days, Doctor Frankenstein, assembles the legendary Halloween monsters and spirits to a meeting to discuss how to be scary once again. They all show up, among them, Dracula, Wolfman, Vampira, Tombstone, the Fortune Teller, Frankenstein’s Creature, the Skeletons and the Witches, to practise new horror techniques. After they gather in a sinister cemetery, some teenagers unexpectedly arrive, and then the secret to spookiness is revealed in this fun show with comic songs and lots of Halloween spirit(s)!! 65 minutes.                                                                                         Halloween will be very funny and scary too, with this world premier of a new play written just for our Original Kids junior cast! Come along with Flap, a young scarecrow who is troubled by loneliness and the knowledge of not being scary at all. Flap meets Aleister, a hyper-intelligent crow who teaches Flap to make scarecrows the way Flap wants scarecrows to be. The situation accelerates out of control as Flap creates scarier and scarier scarecrows — until the entire country is terrorized by these frightening burlap beings! 65 minutes. (G Rated)
