SEE Productions

SEE Productions, founded by Shannon Charnock, was born out of a desire to see more ethically challenging theatre in London, Ontario. Believing that the best kind of art should make people question themselves and the world they live in, Charnock set out with the goal of producing “theatre that makes you think.” SEE Productions is committed to the creation of thought-provoking entertainment, and invites audiences to go on a theatrical adventure which will open their hearts and minds.

    Leo

A coming-of-age story set against the political turmoil of the Chilean coup of 1973. Set in Santiago, Chile, three young friends are swept up in the political upheaval surrounding the overthrow of President Salvador Allende’s democratically elected government.  Told through beautiful poetry and dialogue, Leo recounts his memories of love and loss, pain and pleasure, the struggle between individual desire and working for the greater good, and of falling into the fearsome world of the “disappeared”.

Mature content, coarse language, violence, sexuality, and the use of strobe lights.

Tickets: $10 students/seniors, $12 adults.  Available at The ARTS Project and by calling (519) 642-2767.

                    Goodness

A playwright breaks his promise and tells a story he said he would never tell: this is the story of Althea, the only survivor of her family from an unnamed genocide. Althea became a prison guard to the intellectual behind it on trial many years later. However, he claims to have Alzheimer’s disease and cannot remember the past two decades of his life. This is a story of genocide; a story of broken relationships; a story of guilt and the loss of innocence, of love and hate, and asks the question “why do good people rush to do evil, and what do they become?”

Tickets: $15 adults, $12 students; available at The ARTS Project box office, 519-642-2767.
